What does an Elopement at City Hall look like?


  • Come a little earlier than your ceremony, if we meet 10 - 15 minutes before the ceremony at the door of the building, it will be ideal. What do you need to know?
  • All participants go through security check in the office building. It is important that the couple, the witness and the photographer enter together to avoid any complications.
  • After passing security check, you will present your ID information about the appointment, then you will receive a number in the queue
  • When it is your turn, you will go to the right window and fill out the necessary form, sign them and pay for the ceremony
  • After completing the paperwork, you will go to the waiting area, where you will be called for the ceremony.
  • Ceremony: The ceremony lasts about 2-3 minutes, it is quick but meaningful and ends with receiving a marriage certificate.

Hello, I’m Elena, a professional photographer with 6 years of experience, based in New York for the past 3 years. My work centers on capturing the beauty of love stories through marriage proposals, City Hall Elopements, Engagements, and Intimate Weddings. FAQs: Your NYC City Hall Elopement

Where do we meet for the City Hall ceremony? We usually meet 10–15 minutes before your scheduled appointment right at the entrance of the Marriage Bureau (141 Worth St). It’s important that we, along with your witness, enter through security together to ensure a smooth process.
Can you act as our witness? Yes! I offer a free witness service with all my elopement packages. If you are planning a private ceremony with just the two of you, I would be honored to sign your marriage certificate and capture the moment simultaneously.
How do we book your services for an elopement? To secure your date, a 30% prepayment and a signed contract are required. Since City Hall appointments can be hard to get, I recommend reaching out as soon as you have your time slot confirmed.
What is the photography process inside the Marriage Bureau? Once we pass security, you’ll check in and get a number. I’ll document the "waiting" moments, the paperwork process, and of course, the ceremony itself, which usually lasts about 2–3 minutes. Afterward, we’ll take portraits inside the beautiful marble halls and outside the building.

How long does it take to receive the photos? You will receive your edited, high-resolution images in a private online gallery within 7 days (up to 10 days for the 3-hour package). I prioritize quality and a fast turnaround so you can share your news quickly!
Do you offer video services for elopements? Yes! My "Our Quiet Forever" package includes a short, edited video Reel. For other packages, a mini-video can be added as an extra option to complement your photo memories.
